Staying safe on xLiveCam
A live cam means meeting strangers, by design. These are the controls you have — in the meeting and on the other person's profile — and the habits that do the rest.
The controls you have
Ends the current live cam and moves you on. No explanation owed, and no way for the other person to follow you.
Hangs up on the spot when you would rather stop than meet the next person.
Cuts your own microphone — handy when the room gets loud or someone walks in behind you.
Makes sure you are never matched with that person again.
Opens a form where you pick a reason and describe what happened, so a human can review it.
Two more things are structural: xLiveCam is 18+ only, and your camera never turns on without your permission.
Habits that matter more than any feature
- Keep your details yours. A first name is plenty. Address, workplace, socials, payment apps — none of it belongs in a meeting with a stranger, no matter how well it is going. Being discreet is easiest when you never hand over the thing you would want back.
- Assume screens can be recorded. Recording other people is against our rules, but no site can make it technically impossible — so do not show anything you would not want saved.
- Money talk is an exit sign. Anyone who asks you to send money, move to another app to "verify", or invest in something is running a script. Skip, then report from their profile.
- Trust the mismatch feeling. If something feels off — the age, the behaviour, the pressure — leave. You never owe a stranger your time or your patience.
If something feels off
- Leave first. Skip or hang up from the call screen — you can always deal with the rest after you are out of the room.
- Block, then report. Open the other person's profile to block them and file a report with what happened.
- Tell a human if it is serious. Email [email protected] with roughly when it happened.
- Under-18 doubt? Report immediately. If anyone in a meeting appears to be under 18, report it right away — those reports are reviewed first, and doubt is enough.
